Ruppert Properties Receives $39,600 to Make Lighting Repairs

Over 230 lighting fixtures were upgraded or replaced, bringing Ruppert nearly $20,000—a whopping 84%—in annual energy savings with a project payback of just over two years. Beyond the energy and maintenance savings, the $39,600 in incentives from Potomac Edison cut the project cost nearly in half.

Energy-efficient LED lighting upgrades were performed in the entire facility, including over the indoor soccer arena, pool and basketball court. The upgrades are expected to save nearly 131,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh), which is equivalent to the energy used to power 16 average Maryland homes for more than a year.
