Instant Discounts
Saving on energy-efficient lighting equipment is easier and quicker with Potomac Edison’s Instant Discounts through participating distributors. No application is required, and there is no wait. Visit a participating distributor, and the discount for qualified products and equipment will be applied at the point of purchase.
Instant Discounts are for retrofits only. New construction is not eligible.
Participants can use the Instant Discounts more than once until all lighting has been upgraded to save money and energy.
Lighting
The Instant Lighting Discount is suitable for one-to-one retrofits, typically maintenance and smaller projects. This program is available to all Maryland Potomac Edison commercial and industrial customers replacing existing lighting with new LED lighting.

Pre-Approval Requirements
Pre-approval must be submitted and approved before completing the sale for all lighting projects that exceed $5,000 in incentive funds. Pre-approval is not required for HVAC equipment.
Effective Dates
To qualify for Instant Discounts, products and equipment must have been purchased and installed after January 1, 2024.
How Do I Apply for Incentives?
No application is required. The Instant Discount is applied at the point of purchase at a participating distributor. Participants may choose to purchase and install equipment themselves or use a contractor, who will work with a participating distributor to obtain the instant discount.
Step 1: Call or Visit a Participating Distributor
Provide the following information:
- Potomac Edison account number
- Name and address of the business where the products will be installed
- Contact name and number
Once information is validated, the discount will be automatically applied to the purchase price.
Step 2: Install Equipment
Qualified products and equipment must be installed within 90 days following the purchase. Potomac Edison and/or its program administrators reserve the right to verify the installation of the equipment that was purchased by the participant and rebated by the Instant Discount.
