Small Business Direct Install
Potomac Edison’s Small Business Direct Install (SBDI) Program provides energy-saving improvements for non-residential buildings with average annual demand under 100 kW or less. This includes commercial businesses, industrial, government, institutional and nonprofits. From HVAC tune-ups and refrigeration upgrades to LED lighting and efficient cooling, the SBDI Program is here to help you save.
If you're a small business customer upgrading multiple measures, you may also qualify for the Building Tune-up Program, offering even more opportunities for efficiency improvements.
The Small Business Direct Install Program requires improvements to be installed by our Closed Network Providers. Start saving today by contacting a local provider to arrange an on-site energy assessment.
Effective Dates
To qualify for incentives through the Small Business Direct Install Program, equipment must have been purchased and installed after January 1, 2024, and after the receipt of a formal pre-approval letter from the Program Administrator.
Sample Upgrades
- HVAC controls to optimize rooftop units and air handlers
- Variable frequency drives (VFDs) for fans and pumps up to 40 hp
- Refrigeration controls for evaporator fans and door heaters
- LED lighting and controls
- Dual enthalpy economizers for HVAC
- Other program-eligible improvements
Program Selection Guidance:
- Choose SBDI if you're making a single energy efficiency upgrade.
- Opt for Building Tune-up if you're making multiple energy efficiency upgrades.
How Do I Apply for Incentives?
Ready to start saving? Contact the Closed Network Provider assigned to your area to schedule a site visit at your facility, at which time they will conduct a detailed analysis of your energy use.
